You will need: 

  • Whole Arabica coffee beans
  • Filtered water
  • Coffee grinder
  • Cheesecloth
  • Fine-mesh strainer 
  • Rubber band 

Step 1: To begin, grind the coffee beans until coarsely ground.

Step 2: Fill the jar halfway with water and add the ground coffee. Add the water to the 3-quart jar or pitcher with the ground coffee. Stir well to combine.

Step 3: Refrigerate the coffee for at least 18 to 24 hours to allow it to be steep. Using a cheesecloth, strain the coffee concentrate. You can also strain in batches. Also, you should not squeeze or press the coffee grinds against the cheesecloth.

Step 4: Transfer the cold brew mixture to a clean, sealed jar for later use. You can store it in the refrigerator for up to 14 days. Undiluted cold brew can be kept in the fridge for up to two weeks, while you can keep diluted cold brew in the refrigerator for up to three days.

Step 5: Finally, pour a half-cup of the brew over the ice, then mix in a half-cup of cold water. If desired, top with sweet cream. Take pleasure in your cool brew!
